Les Continents et Les Océans du Monde
by Asher H. and Landon
Hello my name is Asher and my name is Landon. We learned about the continents and oceans in French. The continents are L’Amérique du Nord, L’Amérique du Sud, L’Europe, L’Afrique, L’Asie, L’Australie, and L’Antarctique. We also learned about the oceans in French, like L’Océan Artique, L’Océan Atlantique, L’Océan Pacifique, and L’Océan Indien. We did an activity with the continents and oceans. We had to match the names with velcro and put them in the right place on the map. We did this in groups of 2 or 3 students. After we finished the map we learned a chant to help us remember the continents. We liked the activity a lot, because it was fun. To sum it all up, that’s how we learned les continents and les océans du monde.
Our Multicultural Picnic
by
Alanna and Hannah
Do you want to hear about our Multicultural picnic? Well, sure you do! Everybody brought a dish of food to represent their culture. We had foods like Armenia pizza from Armenia, fried rice from Thailand, enchiladas from Mexico, of course. Oh yes and there was sushi from Japan. All those dishes tasted really splendid! Most people were excited to try something new like sushi, or Armenia pizza. It was pretty crowded. We hope none of you were THAT crowded! Our class had lots of fun and we hope you really enjoyed the Multicultural picnic too!

Foods Around the World
by
Isa and Yvette
Have you ever had a huge picnic at school with two other classes in your same grade level? Well we have. Hi I’m Isa and I’m Yvette and we are the students of room 8. On October 13, 2011 we had a Multicultural Picnic. There were foods from all around the world. Families brought things like spaghetti, Pan dulce, hummus, and lots more. We did it to show respect for people from all around the world. We learned about different cultures and special dishes they eat. So that’s why we had a picnic of different kinds of foods. I wish we could have another one. Clearly we think we should have another picnic. Don’t you? Salut!
Le Picnic Formidable
by
Amaya and Ruby
Bonjour! Je m’appelle Amaya and Ruby. We are writing about our Multicultural picnic. The students in Rooms 7, 8, and 10 just couldn’t wait for the day of the picnic. You won’t believe all the amazing foods that families brought to the lunch. We will name some foods that we had. We enjoyed Armenian pizza, Sushi, Spaghetti, Flan, Orange Rice, Beans, Bean dip, Spring Rolls, Madelines, and Egg Rolls. It was tres bien! We did it because we were in a Global studies school. We could meet new people and learn about the different foods from their culture. So we almost travelled around the world. We made signs with the different country names and we hung them from the trees in the quad. It was a great day for the families and students in Rooms 7, 8, and 10. Salut!
